Cognia’s strategic planning process guides better decisions.
The best schools run on a plan. But crafting an effective school improvement plan requires in-depth analysis that can be daunting for administrators already neck-deep in federal mandates, state requirements, and local demands. Richmond County School System (RCSS) in Augusta, Georgia, needed a data-driven continuous improvement planning process that would not overburden administrators.
After its 2024 accreditation renewal with Cognia, Richmond County School System decided to partner with the nonprofit on all continuous improvement planning. Using the Cognia Strategic Thinking and Planning framework, the school system created a data-driven five-year improvement plan. Cognia facilitators guided the new RCSS Strategic Thinking and Planning core team through each phase of the plan, enabling team members to participate fully without worrying about managing the process.
